Ty Fance - an author of his book of autobiographical short stories Off My Head and Over the Fence and a producer of the story telling show - Off My Head a lasting storytelling experience. Originally from Houston, Texas, Ty performs his stories throughout Southern California and enjoys a good hot peppermint tea. Tys stories feature his journey into and through fatherhood; reflections of marriage; and his colorful childhood -rediscovered.
FEATURED STORYTELLERS:
Sam Shaber - Singer-songwriter-storyteller-indie rocker Sam grew up in New York City. As a singer-songwriter, shes toured over 200,000 miles and released 12 independent albums, initially as a solo folkie, and more recently fully plugged-in with her band The Happy Problem. Sam performs true stories of her life, love, loss, family, dogs, obsessions, embarrassments, regrets, victories big and small, and what she learned about marriage when going to see "Hamilton: The Musical." She's a Moth slam winner and Mainstage performer, and has performed in and co-hosted storytelling events across LA and New York. Her multimedia, musical storytelling show Sam Shaber: Life, Death & Duran Duran premiered at the 2017 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it earned 5-star reviews and Pick of the Fringe, and had its US debut at the 2018 Hollywood Fringe, winning Pick of the Fringe, Critics Choice, and a Hollywood Producers Encore Award. Sam is currently working on a book adaptation of the show, a podcast and a possible scripted series for BBC3.
Megan Oberle is a writer, artist, actor, copywriter and editor. She has been performed several storytelling events including Expressing Motherhood, Momnipresent, and Heart, Soul, Pen.
Christine Blackburn is a actress and a published author. She is also a cancer survivor. Christine has a weekly storytelling podcast called Story Worthy. She is also the co-host of Screwed-Up Stories with Rachael OBrien on Westwood One Podcasts. Christine is also the creator and host of Story Smash The Storytelling Gameshow played every month at The Hollywood Improv. She is the author of the book PIT to LAX: My Story Worthy Life. Christine hosted Ready For The Weekend Movies on USA Network and has contributed to The Huffington Post. She is a 3 time MOTH Story Slam winner.
Tony Figueroa is a comedian, writer, actor, voice over artist, audio-book narrator and storyteller based in Los Angeles. Tonys blog, CHILD OF TELEVISION, is an example of life imitating art.Tony is also a contributor to TV CONFIDENTIAL a two-hour radio talk show about all aspects of television that directs itself to the Baby Boomer, Generation X and senior markets. In his spare time Tony can be found story telling at the Story Salon in North Hollywood (Tony is also one of the producers).
Donna Allen-Figueroa, author, actor, writer, producer. In her spare time, Donna, can also be found story telling at the Story Salon ( Donna is also one of the producers at the Story Salon).
Marlene Nichols - is a writer & performer and all around story maven. Her theatrical pieces have been produced as close to home as Atwater Village and as far away as the Arctic Circle. Shes worked for Al Gores Climate Reality Project and the Discovery Channel and is part of the team behind the Storytelling Show Strong words where she co-teaches a class called The Art & Architecture of Storytelling.
Kevin McGeehan spent many years as an actor for Chicagos famed Second City theatre, where he traveled around the country and parts of Europe with the National Touring Company. He is a 4-time Moth StorySLAM winner, and his story, It Matters a Great Deal, is featured on both The Moth Radio Hour and The Moths 20th Anniversary book, All These Wonders. You can read more of his autobiographical stories in the archives of Mens Health magazine, or you can watch them on his YouTube channel. He currently teaches Improvisation and Storytelling both independently and at The Second City Hollywood.
