[framed] presents: An Evening with filmmaker Walter Ungerer
Next Stage Arts Project presents an evening with filmmaker Walter Ungerer. Mr. Ungerer will present a program of his recent short experimental films followed by a Q&A with the audience to discuss his work and pocess. This event will be of special interest to film buffs and well as to filmmakers and students of media and film.
Mr. Ungerer is a veteran filmmaker and artist of international reputation, beginning with his work in the underground film scene in NYC in the early 1960s, and continuing through to the 21st century in Maine. Ungerer's works have been shown at festivals and competitions throughout the world including Filmmuseum, Amsterdam; Lichtmess, Hamburg; Tate, London; and MoMA, NY. Two of Ungerers films more recently noted on the international festival circuit are GREEN EYE (Atlanta Film Festival; Venice Biennale, Italy); and ICI (Alchemy Festival, Scotland; Berlin Film Festival Directors Lounge, Germany; Black Maria, USA). They will be part if this Next Stage program.
This event is presented by Next Stage as part of the [framed] film series dedicated to highlighting the work of independent filmmakers from around the region and the world.
