Laura Shenkar is the founder and principal at Artemis Water Strategy. She is one of leading experts on advanced water technology and its potential for business operations. With over a decade of business experience outside of the U.S., Ms. Shenkar works with water companies to support their business development and innovation strategies, governments to build their water tech industries, and water tech start-ups to launch their go-to-market strategy. Clients include Wal-Mart, IBM, and the governments of Singapore, Canada, Israel,and Denmark. Each year, Artemis Water Strategy hosts the Artemis Water Tech Top 50, which provides a central benchmark for innovation in the water industry. It brings together leading experts in the water industry and provides a rigorous, independent mechanism for identifying the leading 50 water technology ventures. Laura has moderated technical forums at the annual conference of the waste water industry (WEFTEC) and presented at research conferences at Ben Gurion University, U.C.L.A., and U.C.-Berkeley. She is an active member of the NSF Onsite Water Think Tank, the Alliance for Water Efficiency research committee, and the Water Reuse Association. As a member of Environmental Entrepreneurs, Laura co-authored their water policy paper that has driven California state policy to conserve water and energy. She worked for Harvard Professor Michael Porter to develop strategies for several governments to build world-class industries. Laura's research and opinions appear in Forbes, the New York Times, Inc. Magazine, USA Today and the Christian Science Monitor. A graduate of Yale University, Ms. Shenkar holds an MBA from Harvard. She has lived throughout the world and resides in San Francisco.
