The Skriker
The House of Ithaqua presents Caryl Churchill's "The Skriker" at The Cherry ArtSpace. In this horror story about modernity, postpartum depression and moral decay, two young mothers Josie (Maya Jones) and Lily (Erin Lockett) are stalked through England by the Skriker (Barbara Geary), a shapeshifting faerie who seeks to bring them to the Underworld, a hellscape populated by withering creatures from traditional British folklore.
HOI Artistic Director AJ Sage makes his directorial debut for the company, leading a cast of 20 that also includes audience favorites Daniel Kiely, Marlo Del Toro and RJ Lavine. Stage management by Maggie Lapinski, choreography by Amanda Moretti, soundscape by Zacc Charvolin and Norm Scott, Lighting design by Lea Davis and costumes by Liz Kitney.
Audiences should be warned that "The Skriker" includes adult language and disturbing imagery throughout, in addition to themes of depression.
"The Skriker" will be performed at 7:30 PM 11/15 - 11/17 and 11/21 - 11/23. It runs for approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.
