RWU Theatre Presents: The Moors by Jen Silverman
Inspired by the lives of the Brontë sisters, Jen Silvermans dark comedy takes place on the grey Yorkshire Moors of northern England, where two spinsters live in a manor house with their philosopher-king mastiff. As Silverman satirizes the Brontës, she shows a fierce, yet humorous view on the volatility of gender roles. The women in The Moors are removed from the male gaze as their passions ignite before us in their bleak surroundings.
