The Rosebud Quartet was formed in 2013 in Rosebud, Alberta at the inaugural Rosebud Chamber Music Festival, an annual summertime showcase of chamber music in rural Alberta. Based in Toronto during the year, the quartet appears regularly at various festivals and series, including the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre Chamber Music Series, Stereo Live, Echo Chamber Toronto, the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, Music by the Sea in Bamfield, British Columbia, the Stratford Summer Music Festival, as well as each summer at the Rosebud Chamber Music Festival. The group is comprised of violinists Aaron Schwebel (Concertmaster, National Ballet of Canada; Associate Concertmaster, Canadian Opera Company) and Sheila Jaffe (Principal Viola, National Ballet of Canada; Viola, Canadian Opera Company), violist Keith Hamm (Principal Viola, Canadian Opera Company), and cellist Leana Rutt (Principal Cello, Canadian Opera Company).
For this program, we are honoured to have guest Violist Steven Dann, former Principal Viola of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, member of the Axelrod Quartet, ARC Ensemble, Zebra Trio, faculty at GGS, and Chamber Music Coordinator at Domaine Forget and Music by the Sea in Bamfield, British Columbia.
