Dance for Camera & Kinetic Cinema with Victoria Sendra
The goal of the class will be to integrate knowledge of cinema and movement, both behind and in front of the camera. Many concepts, feelings/emotions, can be expressed through movement on film that is different and possibly even more moving than spoken language. This workshop is open to artists and people of various disciplines; whether you are a dancer, filmmaker, musician, or just curious, we want to give you tools to create images and movement. We will go over the basics of cinema, view examples, and do movement exercises, to get into our bodies, work with partners, and introduce camera work and the framing of movement. This is a beginner/intermediate level class, but advanced students are welcome who want to explore more movement in their cinema practice or more camera work in their dance practice. If you have a camera, please bring it, however we highly encourage you to bring your camera phone, if you have one. All levels and experience levels welcome.
