Brazilian Professional Network Reception
BRAZILIAN PROFESSIONAL NETWORK - CHICAGO
PURPOSE AND MISSION:
To create a network of business, legal, government, and academic professionals with an interest in sharing their expertise and experience related to Brazilian business and the Brazilian economy. Leveraging the power of a network, members will ultimately determine the scope, focus and direction of the organization.
The decision to create a network of professionals with a focus on Brazilian economic interests was driven by several overriding goals and needs. Brazil is the largest economy in Latin America and the 8th largest in the world. Its diverse industries and products compete globally and it is the world leader in a number of agricultural, metals and other industries. In short, it is difficult to talk about a global economy without mentioning Brazil. Brazilian business interests touch the Midwest and Chicago in particular in many ways. As a result, many professionals with a connection to the Brazilian economy have found their way to the Chicago area.
FEATURED SPEAKER: Dr. Jeff Dreyfuss, Chicago entrepreneur and founder of Metropolis Coffee Company.
Dr. Dreyfuss, who also has a PhD in linguistics and specializes in cross-cultural communication, founded Metropolis Coffee in late 2003. The Company roasts its own beans for wholesale distribution and operates a retail coffee shop. Dr. Dreyfuss sources a large portion of his coffee beans from Brazil and will share the story of his Brazilian connection and will highlight the importance of cross-cultural communication in international business.
