SnoValley Tilth Pig Roast and Farm Faire 2013
Tickets include the tastiest buffet dinner of locally grown food (with homemade blueberry cobbler for dessert) and admission to the faire, located on the beautiful Jubilee Farm on the banks of the Snoqualmie River in the heart of Seattle's food basket farmland! Enjoy an authentic pig and veggie barbeque roast with all the trimmings, and sip a glass of wine, a cold beer, or a cider at the no-host bar. Bring along the little ones: kids 12 and under eat and are admitted free! Buy $1 tickets onsite for a litany of fun farm games or a tractor-pulled wagon ride to tour the farm, and then finally bring your dancing shoes for the live music by Ask Sophie that will round out the night! For more information on the menu, schedule, and music find us at our website. Keep in mind that you can also buy tickets at the door (though the price will go up to $25 after 9/14!), so bring all the johnny-come-lately friends you can rustle-up! SnoValley Tilth is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Please see our website for more information about where the money from this fundraiser is going! Our vision is of more farmers on more farmland, growing more sustainable food for our community. We hope you share this vision! But come eat the tasty local food even if you don't!
The meaning of "Tilth": Tilth is an Old English word used to describe the structure and quality of cultivated soil. An even older meaning describes it as the cultivation of wisdom and spirit. A soil or person in good tilth was said to be "in good heart." The Oxford English Dictionary defines tilth as labor, work, or effort directed to useful or profitable ends, especially in regards to the soil. "Tilth is something every farmer can recognize but no scientist can measure." -Walter
