CONCERT DETAILS
The Bucks County Symphony Orchestra presents its annual Family Concert at Central Bucks High School West in Doylestown, PA.
The BCSOs Assistant Conductor, Sebastian Grand, will conduct this performance entitled Pirates at Sea! The featured soloist will be the 2019 Youth Concerto Competition prize winner, 15-year-old flutist Sarah Park. She will perform the elegant first movement of Jacques Iberts Flute Concerto. Guest student performers will be the Select String Ensembles from Lenape Middle School and Central Bucks High School West, under the direction of Jessica Tosti. Flute players from Bridge Valley, Doyle, Kutz and Linden Elementary Schools will join the BCSO as well, prepared by music teachers Mark Appiotti, Aric Branchfield, Paul Losch and Mike Robinson.
What a wonderful way for the entire family to enjoy an afternoon of entertainment together!

Sarah Park
Sarah Park is 15 years old and in 10th grade at Liberty High School in Bethlehem, PA. She has played the flute for over 8 years and studies with Jeffrey Khaner, former principal flutist with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
Sarah has won numerous competitions, including the Flute Society of Greater Philadelphia Young Artists Competition, Ambler Symphony Elmer and Louise Menges Scholarship, Old York Road Symphony Concerto Competition, Bucks County Symphony Youth Concerto Competition, Crescendo International Youth Competition, KRB New York International Competition, Nelly Berman Classical Virtuosos Competition, Asian American Music Society International Competition, and the Pocono Flute Festival Competition.
Sarah was selected as a finalist at the Philadelphia Orchestra Albert M. Greenfield Competition. In addition, she has performed at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall, Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center, the Kimmel Center, and the Kennedy Center.
Sarah has won the Michael Kurta Outstanding Musicianship Award for her school band, participated in the Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra for 3 years, and is currently playing in the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra. She has participated in Curtis Summerfest and the Philadelphia International Music Festival.
In addition to music, Sarah is a part of her schools swim team and loves to spend time with her friends.
