National Storyteller Ingrid Nixon will be leading two workshops as a part of PSG's TELLABRATION™ weekend.  Friday evening, November 15, 2019; 6:30  pm  8:30 pm, she will give a master workshop, Walking with the Ancients: Making Sense and Making Use of Very Old Stories, where well take a short walk in the shoes of the ancient tellers to explore story crafting that sticks, and well explore how some common metaphors came to be and how they continue to influence the stories we tell today, whether we know it or not. This class will be helpful to those seeking to decode traditional tales, as well as inform the crafting of contemporary stories to increase their relevance to, and staying power with, broader audiences. Intended for those who have experience in both crafting stories and in performing before live audiences.

On Saturday morning, November 16, 2019; 9:30 am  12:30 pm, Ingrid will lead an interactive workshop, Past/Present Fusion: Finding the Everyday in the Mythic and Vice Versa, looking at what makes the two kinds of stories, traditional and personal, appealing, and explore ways to blend the qualities. Come with a favorite traditional tale or personal story, and walk away with practical techniques you can use to increase your storys appeal to a broader audience.  Open to all with an interest in storytelling no matter what level of experience.

TELLABRATION™ Performance  One Ocean, Many Shores: Stories Real and Imagined from Around the World on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 8:00 pm.  Come aboard for a sea voyage with peripatetic storyteller Ingrid Nixon to explore stories and peoples of far-off shores. Its an evening of folktales, true tales, myths and legends; after dipping your toe in this evening, the ocean will never quite feel the same.  "These are stories I really love," says Ingrid.  You will, too.
