Game Night Variety Show September 27th!
All inspired by the fun and community of playing games, Game Night is a variety show featuring music and comedy, AND a reason to put on pants and leave your home! The evening is created and hosted by Laser M Webber (The Doubleclicks, Catty Bs, Bridgetown) and Joseph Scrimshaw (Obsessed Podcast, Adult Swim, RiffTrax) at Geeky Teas new space in Burbank!
Our September show features comedian/producer Dan Telfer (Mad Magazine, The Filling) and comedian/musicians, Thank You Five!

The Doubleclicks are a nationally touring, Billboard-charting nerd band with a cello, a meowing cat keyboard, and songs about dinosaurs, cats and Netflix, space, and Dungeons and Dragons. Joseph Scrimshaw is a comedian, writer, and podcaster/host based in Los Angeles. Hes a writer for the fantasy comedy TV show Tigtone on Adult Swim. Joseph has also written for the movie riffing group, RiffTrax, Screen Junkies, and was a writer/performer on the radio show Wits, where he wrote sketches for Paul F. Tompkins, Dave Foley, Neil Gaiman, and more. Josephs plays Adventures in Mating, An Inconvenient Squirrel, and My Monster (written with Bill Corbett) have been performed all over the US as well as the UK, Peru, Bulgaria, and more. As a comedian and actor, Joseph has appeared at SF SketchFest, Chicago Improv Festival, Dragon Con, headlined on Jonathan Coultons JoCoCruise, appeared on Wil Wheatons TableTop, done childrens theater, Shakespeare, and an internet commercial with the monkey from Friends. His comedy podcast Obsessed has been listed as a Staff Favorite on iTunes. He co-hosts ForceCenter, a popular podcast discussing and celebrating Star Wars. Joseph has also released a book called Comedy of Doom and multiple stand-up albums including 2015s Rebel Scum and 2013s Flaw Fest. As a child Joseph wanted to grow up to be like Luke Skywalker and now looks forward to growing up more to be like older Luke Skywalker.
Dan Telfer wrote and performed comedy in Chicago for 15 years before moving to Los Angeles. As a writer for The Onion he was responsible for headlines like Drunk Women Find Their Run Across Busy Street Hilarious and for the web series The Onions Extremely Accurate History of the Internet. He was also in charge of an entire team of writers, and headed The Onions advertising integration department. As a stand-up comic he has toured as an opener for Maria Bamford, Brian Posehn and Patton Oswalt. In 2011, Dan was selected to perform at the Chicago Just For Laughs Festivals Best of the Fest show, the Montreal Just For Laughs Festivals Talk of the Fest show, and the coveted New Faces of Comedy showcase of both festivals. In addition to The Onion his writing has appeared in Paste Magazine, The A.V. Club, and the official book based on the TV show Mad Men: The Illustrated World. Dan has been the social media producer on Comedy Centrals @midnight, which won an Emmy for Outstanding Interactive Program. He also appeared as a panelist on the show. Dan was also an editor for Mad Magazine.Dan has appeared on popular LA podcasts such as Comedy Bang Bang and Doug Loves Movies, and recurs on Brian Posehns Nerd Poker. Dans debut CD EP Fossil Record was a split release with Greg Proops and Paul F. Tompkins. This, along with both his full length CDs, have all appeared on AST Records. His latest full length Ocean of Panic debuted at #1 on iTunes Comedy.
THANK YOU FIVE is a monthly variety show that brings the theatricality of Broadway to the El Cid in Silver Lake. Hosted by former high school theater standouts, Gabe Gibbs and Cecily Breaux, each show features NEW, original-comedy songs and hilarious special guests. A toe-tapping spectacle with frequent dance breaks, THANK YOU FIVE delivers Broadway magic for a fraction of the price.
