Oakland Samba Revue
Evenings of Cultural Arts presents Oakland Samba Revue. This performance of samba music and dance is brought to you by the City of Sunnyvale.
Debuting summer of 2019, Oakland Samba Revue is the newest contribution to the Bay Area's rich legacy of top-notch Brazilian music. Based on the 'little big band' sounds of Brazilian samba de gafieira, and backed by one of the Bay Areas best horn sections, O.S.R. is a product of Grupo Falso Baiano co-founder Brian Moran - "Morangão", with Erik Jekabson (trumpet), Zack Pitt-Smith (reeds), Jeff Cressman (trombone), Brendan Neutra (bass) and Zach Mondlick (drums) and featuring vocalist Catia Lund. Joining O.S.R. on Nov 30 at the Sunnyvale Theatre will be the spectacular Brazilian samba de gafieira dancers Weslei Guimarães and Tainah Harvey.
Rooted in acoustic samba, O.S.R. is samba, is jazz, is funk, is fun! Music to dance to, music to listen to.
