Max presents "Start Using That Singletail!" at Lover's Lair
Singletail whips have a powerful mystique and deliver a powerful experience.
They manage to be beautiful, delicate, and savage, all at once.
This workshop focuses on the most common whips used for BDSM - 3' and 4' signal whips.
It's specifically designed for the rank beginner who's considering a whip purchase or who has a whip and hasn't used it much.
Max will cover
- Whip construction
- Where to hit / where not to hit
- Warming up your whip / warming up your bottom
- Basic technique
- What to buy and where to buy it
This is a very hands-on class. After the introductory material, we'll spend most of our time throwing the whips. If you'd rather just watch and listen, that's OK too.
Bring a leather jacket for whoever will be hit by the whip. We will be practicing, NOT doing scenes, and we'll use the leather jackets to moderate the sensation created by the whip's impact so you can focus on learning basic technique without worrying about hurting your bottom.
What to bring:
- Your whip, if you have one
- A practice partner, if you have one (if not, we'll practice on each other)
- A leather jacket
As with all of Max's workshops, a handout will be provided to facilitate your learning and retention.
This workshop assumes no previous BDSM experience and is appropriate for all genders, all orientations, and for both tops and bottoms

Max has been active in Seattle's kink community since 1992 and has been teaching bondage, BDSM, and polyamory workshops since 1999.
While he is proficient with a wide range of BDSM skills, Max especially enjoys the intimacy of rope bondage and the intensity of the singletail. Max projects a gentle, dominant energy, and all of his relationships - and most of his scenes - include a substantial D/S component.
Max's love of teaching shines through his workshops, and his love for people informs his personal encounters.
