Relay Dance Collective Premiere Show: Music + Motion
TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR! $15! (Brown Paper Ticket sales have now ended)
Relay Dance Collective invites you to its premiere show, "Music + Motion" at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. daily, August 24-25 at Dance Fremont!
Skip your regular weekend routine, and try Seattle's freshest dance group on for size.
Diverse movement styles will collide in Dance Fremont's intimate, informal studio setting to create a night you won't soon forget. Whether you're into modern dance, hip-hop or ballet; whether you're a seasoned arts-appreciator or a newbie, "Music + Motion" will have something exciting for you.
This is a group that aims to create community, both in its social benefit model, as well as its performances that connect artistic genres, from urban to classical; the arts as well as entertainment.
With the goal of making audiences feel and think, as well as groove in their seats, the dancers have even invited their favorite blues/hip hop band, The Bad Tenants, to perform alongside them.
Relay Dance Collective is proud to be introducing new work by RDC founders Jasmine Morgan, Gabrielle Nomura, Austin Sexton and Tess Wendel along with choreography by three artists who represent Spectrum Dance Theater's jazz-dance roots: Spectrum co-founder Jenny Hillock, Paula Peters and Xaviera Vandermay. Guest performers from 3rd Shift Dance, and Bellingham Repertory Dance, will respectively bring some of the region's best concert jazz and modern dance to the stage.
Please note that there will be a brief Q&A following the Saturday evening show.
RDC will donate a portion of proceeds to providing scholarships for students at Dance Fremont!
IMPORTANT! Tickets will not be available at the door. Please purchase your tickets online. Other questions about the show can be directed to relaydancers@gmail.com. Please do not call Dance Fremont! regarding "Music + Motion."
CAN KIDS COME? Thinking of bringing the whole family? We welcome attendees of all ages, but offer a parental guidance warning due to language by our live hip-hop band, The Bad Tenants.

ABOUT RELAY DANCE COLLECTIVE
Relay Dance Collective (RDC) is a project-based dance group of independent artists founded in 2012 by four dancers committed to the medium dance as a vehicle for group collaboration, personal expression, and social benefit. The group legally functions as a community association, similar to a PTSA. In addition to professional opportunities, the group donates its time to performing within the community, most recently, for residents at Seattle Keiro nursing home and students at Bellingham High School and Pinehurst K-8. The group seeks out collaboration with other groups and organizations engaged in the fine and performing arts, from bands, to fine art galleries, and talented dance artists. Learn more at relaydance.org ABOUT THE BAD TENANTS Based in the Pacific Northwest, The Bad Tenants is what happens when hip-hop and blues get drunk on whiskey and wine then make a baby. Nowhere in music will you find another act or sound quite like the Tenants. Members Casey G, Good Matters and DJ Idlhnds have put their own bluesy-spin on hip-hop music and arrived with something all their own. The trio pushed their way through 2012 like men on a mission. Their drive and energy brought them to an array of crowds covering thousands of miles in each direction. During that year, they saw their first two tours, the release of their latest EP, "Eloquent Scoundrels Vol. 1," and several accolades ranging from "Best Hip Hop" (What's Up! Magazine Awards), to an international film festival win for their video "When I'm Back" (16th Annual Indie Gathering International Film Festival). Learn more at thebadtenants.com
