The 2019 seminar program is titled Scary Bugs and Vanishing Pesticides: IPM in an Ever-Changing Landscape.
This past year has been one of great change in our industry, where we are being challenged to update our IPM programs to use fewer pesticides and more sustainable practices. Its reminded me, as a well-seasoned practitioner, of how hard it can be to change, and lose tools. At the same time, who among us can say we know everything there is to know about IPM?
What we can hold into is that the best integration of methods and strategies still takes planning and recognizing that our strength is the ability to adapt to change and innovate, keeping in mind that timing and effectiveness of treatments are linked. Our goal is to move toward a more knowledgeable approach, fostering continuing education and building on these strengths and connections between us.
