THE UNLIKELY STORY OF THE LESBIANS FIRST FRIDAY @ qFLIX Worcester 2019
Directed by Cody Stickels, 1h 12min, Documentary, 2019, USA
Directed by Kathryn L. Beranich, 1h 2min, Documentary, 2019, USA, English.
In the 1980's, a group calling itself First Friday sprung fully formed from the imaginations of a group of lesbians living in the small city of Roanoke, Virginia. Some of the women were locals and some moved to the Roanoke Valley for employment. It was the Reagan era and homosexuals were vilified, especially in the Bible Belt. Spurred on by the pure serendipity of finding each other, the group created safe space, threw fantastic events and grew a community of lasting friendships, all in the shadow of the Moral Majority. Shared by women who were there, THE UNLIKELY STORY OF THE LESBIANS OF FIRST FRIDAY is a poignant piece of lesbian history.

Transgender Issues In America: A Truthful conversation with a Transgender Artist
Directed by: Cyrille Vincent, 30min, Documentary, 2019, USA, English.
Transgender issues in America is an episode of a series of short documentaries produced in a conversational and performative style. In this film, ordinary world citizens, usually from the 99.9%, are given the opportunity to share their vision on different social issues of the 21 century.
The goal of this specific truthful conversation with Hayden Lombardozzi (Transgender Artist) is to clarify the general public on questions that are often misunderstood or mistaken with the Transgender community and the LGBTQ+ community in general. In a form of dialogue, important questions related to religion, healthcare, education and civil rights are being answered by an atypical Transgender artist living in New England Massachusetts.
