Victoria Park Singers - Autumn Term 2019

Join Victoria Park Singers, a 100-strong community choir led by award-winning conductor Hannah Brine for their Autumn Term 2019. Rehearsals will be every Wednesday (7.00pm-8.45pm) at Lauriston School in South Hackney from the 18th September until our Winter Concert on the 4th December at St Annes Limehouse. There is no rehearsal on October 30th due to half term.

There are no auditions and all levels of singers are welcome - you don't need to be able to read music to join our choir. Rehearsal MP3s are provided for practice.

Please buy a ticket for the section you sing in; voice parts range from soprano to alto, tenor and the lowest, which is bass - if you are unsure don't worry, we can help you at your first rehearsal - just select either if you don't know. If you would like to come to a taster session before committing to the choir, please e-mail pa@hannahbrine.co.uk to arrange.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1) There are no refunds on membership fees.

2) Singers should be able to commit to attending 70% or more of rehearsals in order to perform in the end of term concerts and are asked to sign the register at rehearsals each week.

3) We normally perform without music. Singers are asked to put in the appropriate amount of time outside of rehearsals to memorise words and learn your parts. There is usually a little bit of homework each week to revise a couple of songs to ensure we are making progress at each rehearsal. MP3s of parts are supplied to help with learning.

4) Some of our performances (particularly outdoors/Christmas carols) involve singing our 'rolling rep' (choir favourites) in addition to the current terms set pieces. Singers are required to ensure they read the weekly newsletter and communicate with us regarding any additional resources or learning.
