Wodehouse Playhouse
Slipping out of his own party for a bit of peace, Plum (aka the author PG Wodehouse) is assailed by his secretary Miss Spelvin, keen for her boss to deal with his mail.
To distract her, Plum reminisces about some of his old characters and the scrapes in which they found themselves: Gussies attempts to get into vaudeville; the vivacious and resourceful Vera Prebbles rise to Hollywood stardom; the surprising events of a night at the New York dance club, Geisenheimers; absent-minded Lord Emsworths battles with his forbidding sister and stubborn gardener; and, finally, the day when Jeeves, the ultimate gentlemans gentleman, first entered the fraught and hilariously chaotic life of man-about-town Bertie Wooster.
Based on five short stories from the master of comic writing, Lumina Theatre Groups script-in-hand performance of WODEHOUSE PLAYHOUSE guarantees an evening of good-natured mirth and light-hearted escapism.
