The Schramms House Concert:
Roots Hoot House Concerts is honored to present The Schramms on Saturday, November 2. Fronted by Dave Schramm who is perhaps best known as an original member and lead guitarist for Yo La Tengo, but over the years has worked with a wide assortment of notable artists from the Replacements to Freedy Johnston to Richard Buckner and all points in between, The Schramms are drummer Ron Metz and bassist Al Greller. The Schramms moniker was coined in the early 1990s after Schramm struck out on his own and reunited with Metz. At their first gig together, they billed themselves The Schramms as a joke, but the name stuck! As The Schramms, the band released several acclaimed albums in the 1990s that included Walk to Delphi, Rock Paper Scissors Dynamite, and our absolute favorite, Little Apocalypse. Several more albums followed until the music stopped. The band returned this past June with its first release in 15+ years for Bar/None records called Omnidirectional. Produced by J.D. Foster, it is described as a beautiful work of art that was ten long years in the making. For this rare house concert appearance, they will be joined by the great Kevin Salem on guitar. Doors are at 7 pm and show time PROMPTLY at 7:30. Don't miss out! This is a BYOB/ lite bite show.
