Guest Speaker: Richard Wilson from Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill

The Nashville Metropolitan Region is experiencing historic levels of growth, which presents opportunities and challenges for equitable development, investment in public infrastructure and environmental stewardship. How are other cities addressing such needs to deliver intergenerational benefits to their citizens?

Richard Wilson, City Design Director of Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, has served as the principal planning and urban design consultant to the City of Chicago for the past twenty years. He has led major initiatives for the city including its downtown plan, riverwalk plan and industrial corridor modernization, as well as city design advocacy initiatives on behalf of AIA Chicago. He will share an overview of this work to demonstrate how Chicago is managing change and engage in discussion about its applicability to the Nashville region.
