It is a testament to Lancaster's acting prowess that two of his greatest roles came in the twilight of his career. First in Louis Malle's Atlantic City (screening at the HFA) and then, in a lighter mode, in Bill Forsyth's wry comedy LOCAL HERO. Lancaster plays a pivotal role as Felix Happer, the eccentric head of a multinational oil company who sends hapless "Mac" Macintyre (Riegert) to a small Scottish town in an attempt to buy it out and build a refinery.
