Furrow
Writer: Derek Davidson Director: Derek Davidson Performer: Karen Sabo
Sarah is no stranger to strangers. Anyone in retail--especially during the holidays--can talk about their odd customers. Besides, when she's not selling books, she's performing with the local community theatre, where unusual characters abound. So strangers are no problem until now, when the strangest stranger in Sarah's life is her father.
Weaving together the biblical injunction to welcome strangers with Scrooge's journey of opening his heart to others, the show is an allegory for our current discussion regarding welcoming or rejecting immigrants to the U.S., and of overcoming fears of differences to create a more connected society.
Sunday, October 6th, 2019 9pm

There will be two pieces during this performance: "Furrow" and "Paradox in Translation."

Emerging Artists returns with their one-of-a-kind festival. Visit the theater any evening during this three-week event, and you'll find yourself transported in a number of surprising ways: by a single performer embodying a whole host of characters; by a more experimental theater piece "done differently" that challenges and delights; by a cozy two-person show exploring relationships; or perhaps by a bouncy new musical that will have you humming. Emerging Artists has always been about new works, new talents, new voices. That's never been more evident than now.
NO REFUNDS will be granted.
