The annual trek to the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield Kansas the third weekend in September is close to a religious pilgrimage for musicians and live music fans alike. This long weekend of singing, playing, jamming, camping, and nightly camp fires is the highlight of the year for many Winfield regulars.
On Sunday, August 18th, KKFI's "Winfield Warm-Up" will get a one month jump on this year's festival and capture some of the Winfield magic in a long afternoon and evening of multiple jam sessions, live music concerts, and sing-alongs. On the spacious campus of IBEW Local 124, sporting acres of outdoor lawns and indoor AC comfort, plenty of room will be available for any number of acoustic jams. Rain or shine, indoor and/or outdoor, we'll spend hours swapping tunes, trading licks, tuning our harmonies, or simply kicking back and listening to the music.
