Norway's Hank Von Hell (formerly of Turbonegro) with Overdose (ex-Speedwolf) and The Cheats
Almost a decade has passed since the legendary frontman of Turbonegro, Hank Von Hell, left the scene and stated that he would never come back again. Fans all over the world have begged him to return, and finally, Hank Von Hell is back.
Husby's former band is most well known for their tongue-in-cheek humor and punk rock antics, and the formation of a genre they label "death punk". The band formed in the late 1980s and put out a few records before disbanding in 1998. Turbonegro reunited in 2002, but Husby and the band "laid it on ice" in 2010. Hank had a new lifestyle as a sober family man.
But he's had many adventures since then. In 2009, he had a joint #1 hit alongside Maria Solheim in the Norwegian Singles Chart with "Rom for alle". He played the title role in Cornelis, a Swedish film from 2010 about the singer-songwriter Cornelis Vreeswijk.
In 2011, Hank, alongside his new band Doctor Midnight & The Mercy Cult, released their first album I Declare: Treason, and he was a judge on Norwegian Idol. His biography was released in Norway in 2012, written by famous writer and poet Havard Rem.
Hank released his debut solo album, Egomania, in 2018. He wrote the album with the help of guitarist and band member Eric Bachman, also known as Cat Casino, who is also a member of Vain and Deathstars. The song "Fake It" was chosen for competition to represent Norway at Eurovision in Israel.
When asked why he decided to return and produce a solo record, Hank said: "The timing was just right. I felt like it was time to go back and do what I always shouldve done ROCK. I'm back for real. And that's the only message that's clear enough."
