The Fish Child
Lala, a teenager from an exclusive Buenos Aires suburbs, is in love with Ailin, the Guayi, a Paraguayan live-in maid. They plan to rob Lalas family to fund their dream of living in lake Ypoá in Paraguay. But when Ailin is detained in a young offenders institute, Lala hatches a risky rescue plan.
"With a plot recalling the fevered fictions of Jim Thompson, late Polanski, and Isabel Allende, The Fish Child banks on the sizzle of its pair of young female stars and their enactment of class and erotic tensions to flavor its Sapphic noir melodrama" Slant
"It is the central love story - beautifully realised both in terms of camerawork and acting - that underpins all the rest of the directorial flourishes." Eye For Film
