On Sunday, January 26 at 3 PM, the Concert Artists Series at Haverford College presents VIVA VOCE! featuring premieres of Curt Cacioppos arias, monodrama and motets on verses by the esteemed contemporary Venetian poet Luigi Cerantola. This program marks the Philadelphia area recital debut of Marlboro Festival soprano Kristina Bachrach, and the ensemble debut of the Viva Voce Chamber Singers under the direction of Nathan Zullinger in Cacioppos motet cycle "Women of Ancient Greek Myth" for a cappella choir. Oboist Evan Ocheret makes a cameo appearance in Cacioppos "Gloria". The composer accompanies Ms. Bachrach in the first half of the program.
Cacioppos vocal music has been hailed for its operatic opulence (Michael Caruso) and abundant lyricism (Filippo Focosi), and was described in the single word Exciting! by the legendary bass-baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.
This concert will be held on the Haverford College campus at 370 Lancaster Avenue in Haverford, PA, in Marshall Auditorium, Roberts Hall,
