On Saturday, November 16 at 8 PM, the Concert Artist Series presents the THIRD SOUND ENSEMBLE featuring Sooyun Kim, flute, Romie de Guise-Langlois, clarinet, Karen Kim, violin, Michael Nicolas, cello, Orion Weiss, piano, and composer Patrick Castillo. Their program features Johannes Brahms "Clarinet Trio in A Minor, Op. 114", Ingrid Araucos "Fantasy-Quartet" (2001), Patrick Castillos "Music for Four" (2017), and Arnold Schoenbergs "Kammersymphonie No. 1, Op. 9" (1906) (arr. Webern).
This concert will be held on the Haverford College campus at 370 Lancaster Avenue in Haverford, PA, in Roberts Hall, Marshall Auditorium. Ticket prices are $20 (adult), $15 (senior), $10 (student) $5 (child age 7-17), and free to the tri-college community.

Third Sound is a collective of virtuoso performers drawn from New York City's finest chamber musicians. The ensemble musiciansflautist Sooyun Kim, clarinetist Romie de Guise-Langlois, violinist Karen Kim, cellist Michael Nicolas, pianist Orion Weiss, and composer Patrick Castillohave appeared on the most prestigious series and stages around the world and garnered myriad honors, including the Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Georg Solti Foundation Career Grant, and the Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Performance, among many others. Conceived from a desire to present the complete literature as a rich and dynamic continuum, Third Sound brings together an accomplished group of musicians equally skilled in and equally passionate about the work of Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms as that of composers ranging from Schoenberg, Stravinsky, and Messiaen; Carter, Wuorinen, Adams, and Reich; to emerging composers of the early twenty-first century.
