Cena Comunitaria de Recaudacion de Fondos y Proyeccion de Pelicula para Huerto Semilla // Community Fundraiser Dinner and Screening for Huerto Semilla
Les invitamos a esta celebracion de Huerto Semilla, un proyecto agroecologico en Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Esta noche tendremos una cena en comunidad, la proyeccion del documental "Semillas" y conversacion con miembros del huerto.
Cuir Kitcken Brigade en colaboracion con Interlocking Roots estaremos facilitando una cena vegana de recaudacion de fondos para Huerta Semilla, un huerto urbano ocupando espacio en la Universidad de Puerto Rico en Rio Piedras, compuesto por una comunidad interdiciplinaria y diversa que trabaja por la soberania alimentaria y justicia social a travez de la agroecologia.
Cuir Kitchen Brigade es un proyecto de agricultura y alimentación en Nueva York que está en solidaridad con el movimiento de agroecología sostenible en Puerto Rico. Este proyecto surge de la realidad que enfrentan las personas cuirs/trans, colonizadas y por ende marginalizadas en Puerto Rico y en todas partes, quienes tienen que construir sus propios espacios dado a la homofobia, transfobia, y machismo que existe en nuestra sociedad. ¡Apoyamos que Borikén sea libre e independiente, sin deuda, y con soberanía alimentaria!
Interlocking Roots (Entrelazando Raíces) es una red de gente cuir y trans* negrx, indígena y/o de color quienes somos agricultorxs, amantes de la comida, & guardianxs de la tierra. Centramos los alimentos y el trabajo con la tierra como herramientas descolonizadoras para combatir aislamiento, trauma y culpa. ¡Conectamos, compartimos saberes, afirmamos nuestras identidades cuir y trans* a través de plantas ancestrales e historias de vida, hablamos de ecología cuir, planificamos estrategias y comemos juntis! Honramos nuestra multiplicidad de estrategias para la liberación como rituales sagrados que nutren nuestre espíritu colectivo.

Join us in celebrating Huerto Semilla, an egroecological project in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico with a community dinner, the screening of "Semillas" and conversation with members of the farm.
Cuir Kitchen Brigade in collaboration with Interlocking Roots is hosting a community fundraiser vegan dinner for Huerto Semilla, an occupied urban farm on the ground of the University of Puerto Rico's Rio Piedras campus, comprised of an interdisciplinary and diverse community working for food sovereignty and social justice through agroecology.
Cuir Kitchen Brigade is a NYC based food/ agro project that is in solidarity with Puerto Rico's sustainable agroecology movement, frontline communities affected by climate change and individuals oppressed by political regimes. This project originates from the reality that Cuir*/Trans, colonized and therefore marginalized people in Puerto Rico and elsewhere have to carve out their own space due to cuirphobia, transphobia and machismo in our society. We support a food sovereign, debt free, independent Boriken!
Interlocking Roots is a network of QT*BIPoC foodies, farmers & earth stewards. We center food and earthwork as decolonization tools to combat isolation, trauma and accountability. We connect with one another, share lessons, affirm queer and trans* identities through our plant ancestor and life stories, talk about queer ecology, strategize and eat together! We honor our multifaceted strategies for liberation as sacred rituals that nourish our collective spirit.
