FILM FESTIVAL SELECTIONS FINALIZED
The Anderson Island Film Festival judges this week finalized their selection of 20 films for the 2nd annual festival. The theme for this year's festival is "Journeys."
The chosen films, submitted by filmmakers worldwide, range from an exploration of love in the face of Alzheimer's disease to a profile of Dorothy Schuler, matriarch of the island's Schuler clan.
International films include one that suggests Anderson Island is not the only locale which has ferry problems. Local films endeavor to answer the question "Who Were Rudy and Oscar?" (Spoiler: They ran the Johnson Farm) and include a summary of works made by students at Anderson Island's Youth Film Workshop. At least two of the films will mark their world premiers at this festival.
Film lengths range from 1 minute to 2 hours and will be shown in blocks of about 2 hours. Films will be shown Saturday September 14 and Sunday September 15. Each film is $7 for either a feature film or a block of shorts films.
If you wish to attend more than one feature length film or block of short films, please purchase your number of tickets accordingly. Eg. If you want to attend two feature length films and a block of short films, please purchase 3 tickets. Another option is to purchase a 5 pack of tickets for $30 saving you $5 over the single ticket price. The 5 pack can be shared.
