Taiko Drumming Master Class

Students of all ages can learn the Japanese art of Taiko drumming in this master class. There will be two sessions: a youth class for ages 7-12 from 10:00-11:15 AM, and a teen/adult class from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM.
No experience with drumming required if you've ever wanted to try Taiko drumming, now's your chance!

Born in Nagoya, Japan, Ken Koshio is a Phoenix-based drummer, singer and songwriter. Koshio has performed all over the world, and he was the first person outside of Japan to receive a certified teaching license of Hiroshima Jidaiko (indigenous Taiko drum) from the Hiroshima Preservation Society.
Carolyn Koebel has been exploring rhythm and vibration for the past thirty years. She holds degrees of distinction in music therapy and percussion studies from Western Michigan University and Michigan State University. Much of her work focuses on rhythm-based music therapy and music for personal transformation and Spiritual connection.
