Title 24 2019 Energy Code Update
Presented by: Glumac California is a leader in energy efficiency regulations and is set to enforce new Title 24-Part 6 Building Energy Efficiency Standards on January 1st, 2020. These standards are not only the result of three years of policymaking but have evolved over the last five decades to meet Californias sustainability needs. This presentation will summarize where weve come from, where were going, and also how to navigate the recently adopted 2019 standards. The presentation will focus on how the new Title 24 Energy Standards impact architectural design, building costs, and the overall experience of the buildings end-user.
Learning Objectives: Explore Californias statewide energy goals to give context to the updated Title 24 Energy Code going into effect January 1st, 2020.
Review the Title 24 Energy Code compliance process and when compliance is required.
Summarize the new Energy Code requirements for 2020 and how they will impact architectural design.
Introduce a roadmap for how Californias energy regulations will continue to change in the future.

Presenter: Michael Weller is a Senior Energy Analyst with Glumac in their Irvine, California office; he has worked extensively with the Title 24 Energy Code providing energy modeling and consulting to architects, engineers, contractors, and owners. He has also provided industry training through presentations for each of the 2013 and 2016 updates to the Energy Code and has been a presenter at industry conferences such as the International Living Future Institutes Living Future conference.
