Dylan Thuras and Atlas Obscura at the American Geographical Society Library
Boswell and UWM Libraries present an evening of trivia and stories about the most unusual, curious, bizarre, and mysterious places on Earth with Dylan Thuras, co-author of the 2nd edition of the bestselling Atlas Obscura, at the American Geographical Library, located on the third floor of UWM's Golda Meir Library.
The second edition of Atlas Obscura, now in a striking red jacket, has 20% new material, including 12 new full-paged city guides and full-color gatefold around-the-world map. Altogether there are 120 new entries.
With over 100 new entries and dozens of new photographs in this edition, Dylan Thuras invites guests to come and test their knowledge of the wondrous and far-flung corners of the earth, hear amazing stories of unusual locations, and win prizes in this interactive trivia event with the authors of the bestselling book Atlas Obscura. And what's more, the American Geographical Society Library will have a special mini-exhibit of maps connected to the book. The presentation will be followed by a signing. Thuras will personalize, sign books from home, and pose for photos.
As Atlas Obscura fans know, the AGSL has been singled out as one of the must-see destinations in Milwaukee. We're thrilled to be partnering with Curator Marcy Bidney to make this happen.
