Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis November 23, 2019 Concert
Our concert of Magnificent Music includes "Lyric for Strings" by George Walker, written in dedication to his grandmother. And, Chris Theofanidis references the Tibetan Buddhist idea of "death" in his "Rainbow Body"
From Russia, we hear the tremendous voice of composer Modest Mussorgsky, in his "Pictures at an Exhibition" a memorial walk through an art exhibit of works by his friend.
All this music we hear causes us to live so intently in the composers realm and definitions. But each work raises its voice, magnificent and eloquent, satisfying the soul of its original audience and today's.
