LEON FUNDRAISING EVENT - ERIC GUSTAF NORD CONCERT
Leon's Executive Director, Eric Gustaf Nord, has composed music for most of his life. His compositions merge a variety of diverse musical genres including Classical, Art Song, Musical Theater, Jazz, and Singer/Songwriter along the lines of Joni Mitchell.
He has written several Musicals, an Opera of Federico Garcia Lorca's play Blood Wedding, a Song Cycle of E. E. Cummings poems titled Unrealities that was performed at The New York Public Library during the E. E. Cummings Centennial Celebration in 1994, and numerous songs, including "Come to Own (Isolde's Lullaby)" which received an Honorable Mention from the Great American Song Writing Competition in 2010.
After taking a hiatus from composition for several years, he has returned to writing, largely as a result of the generous contribution by A.C. Jones, of a Steinway Baby Grand M Class piano, given to the new Leon Nonprofit Arts Organization to enhance its future music programming.
The evening will feature a cocktail reception in Leon's gallery space from 7:00 - 8:30pm, with a concert upstairs commencing at 8:30pm.
Space for this event is very limited, so please purchase your tickets in advance in order to secure your spot.
