Repast Baroque Ensemble: Modern Times: the Birth of Public Music, Brooklyn Performance
Baroque London was a hotbed of entrepreneurial energy, full of foreign musicians attempting to increase their renown as virtuosi and to create opportunities for themselves, often with efforts that parallel those of modern-day musicians in New York. Join us for a program that spans this creative spirit from the early Baroque through the beginnings of the Enlightenment. W Works by Nicola Matteis, Gottfried Finger, Handel, Geminiani, Felice Giardini, Galliard, and Henry Purcell. Performed on period instruments. Amelia Roosevelt, violin Stephanie Corwin, bassoon Gabe Shuford, harpsichord
