Plates for Parks at Triangle Park
Celebrate Jersey City's dynamic food scene and enjoy a delicious three-course dinner in one of our beautiful parks. Each dinner will be created by a guest chef, and all proceeds will support the Jersey City Parks Coalition in our mission to empower residents to develop, renovate, use and maintain their community parks and public spaces of Jersey City; thereby revitalizing neighborhoods and lifting communal and human spirits. Please contact us with any food allergies or for vegan/vegetarian options. Brunch starts at 12p Sharp!
Chef, Owner, & "Chopped" Champion Claude Lewis of Freetown Road Project
About Chef Lewis:
Born and raised in jersey city to immigrant parents, I have been exposed to many different cultures, but none that inspired me as much as west Indian food. I attended ps# 25 school in jersey city heights, then St Anthony's high school to play basketball, my remaining 3 years I went to Hudson Catholic hs. Throughout my career, I have cooked many cuisines, Irish, Italian, French, and Japanese. Today, I use all of the techniques I have learned to bring a modernized representation of the food I grew up eating, Caribbean.
Special thanks to ShopRite/Inserra Supermarkets, BCB Bank, JCTC's Stories of Greenville, Rafael Orellana of Footprints Realty, Councilwoman Denise Ridely and the Office of Cultural Affairs for sponsoring this event.
