Hi Salt Spring!

Come out to Mateada on Saturday, August 24th for a night of soulful tunes and slinky vibes with Betty and the Kid (Betty Supple and Aubrey Burke) and Salt Spring duo IRTH (Marley Daemon Iredale and Jesse Thom). They will also be joined by the amazing Jen Charters on Sax (from The Honey Tongues and Red Haven)

We may also have a guest appearance from DIRTY GRACE (Marley, Jesse and Betty's folk trio from 2008-2016) and possibly even a song from THE HONEY TONGUES.

BETTY AND THE KID:
Betty Supple & the Kid combine good vintage folkloric music with their own freaky, wild child styles. Working hard at playtime and digging deep down to excavate the subconscious with autoharp, drum- beat, violin, playtime machines and pedals. With backgrounds in performance art and clowning Betty and the Kid bring playful, candle kissing (ir)reverant fun for the whole family

IRTH BIO:
IRTH (Marley IRedale and Jesse THom) are a songwriting duo from BC, Canada who draw from a diverse range of musical genres, including folk, jazz, world, electronica and r&b, to weave their own unique style of ethereal indie pop music infused with strong melody and emotion. With two distinct styles of performance Beats (dancy/sultry) and Birds (dreamy folk/listening room), the duo create and perform their material using an array of live instruments and an arsenal of vintage gear, analog tape effects, spring verbs and dusty old tubes. The result? A unique sound that bridges earth and wire a place where electricity meets and dances with the naked, human body.
