David Austin - Jazz Piano
Dr. Dave Austin was born in Waterville, Maine, and raised in Pittsfield. He began his jazz studies prenatally, listening to his parents records. He started studying piano at age 6 years, but sadly the teachers of Pittsfield were not into jazz. After a break of several decades, Austin found a good jazz piano teacher at age 50, and progress has been steady since.
He has performed for audiences in Augusta, Maine, Khartoum, Sudan, Djibouti, and Hopkins, Belize. He has his own voice (yes, he sings some), playing standards, some original work, and an occasional spiritual.
Tickets are $12.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door.
