THE BEE EATERS - Tashina and Tristan Clarridge with Simon Chrisman
Tashina Clarridge, her brother Tristan, and Simon Chrisman collectively make up The Bee Eaters. Hard to describe these amazing acoustic musicians, except that they areamazing. All three have played at the house at least once (they were all at the legendary fiddle night) and while on a short west coast tour with Sean Watkins (Watkins Family Hour, Nickle Creek) they are making a stop here to bring some great music. Theyll be mixing instruments and styles. The Bee Eaters typically play beautiful and complex tunes with fiddle, cello, and hammer dulcimer. Maybe Sean will even show up.
chamber musics finely calibrated arrangements with bluegrasss playful virtuosity and pop musics melodic resourcefulness. The Boston Globe The Bee Eaters are the instrumental cream of the brand new string nation. -Darol Anger here come the Bee Eaters. so tastefully arranged and so well played. They rescue the hammer dulcimer from all cliches, and bring the music forward to right here and now. -Tim OBrien It is a joy to hear both the exploration of this music and the grounding of it simultaneously. Also, I love the emphasis on the simple beauty of the acoustic instruments. -Edgar Meyer (3 time Grammy-winning composer/MacArthur Fellow)
