Long-Form Improv Bootcamp (with Lindsay Gonzales)
Overview: This Advanced Improv Masterclass incorporates exercises and scene work techniques from all over the world of Improv. You will learn new warm-ups, exercises and performance techniques that will revolutionize the way you play forever. We will revisit vital fundamentals and explore the values of Yes &, Game Play, Power Initiations, Incorporation of Short-Form Techniques into Long-Form Play and much, much more. The second half of the class will focus on editing techniques, long-form formats, elements of style and what makes the difference between an improv free-form montage and a crisp, polished, engaging piece of improvised theatre. You will be coached as an individual and as a player within the group through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback designed to help unlock your hidden potential and highlight your strengths. It's time to get out of your own head and into the spotlight and be the powerful performer you always wanted to be.
Pre-requisite: Advanced Workshops - participants should have 24 weeks of formal improv training/experience (if unsure, do get in touch before booking)
About Lindsay Gonzales: Lindsay Gonzales is a stand-up comedienne and improvisor lately of Chicago, Illinois. Currently living and performing in Madrid, she also spent several years in Boston, where performed with the ImprovBoston Family Show and co-produced and hosted The Open Comedy Jam and Nightcap at IB for over five years. She has performed at theatres and clubs all over London, Chicago and Boston has also performed and taught workshops in many countries including England, France, Spain, Canada and Puerto Rico. Lindsay has performed in festivals such as Impro Mundial Chile, The Women In Comedy Festival, Geek Week, The Boston Improv Festival, The Copenhagen International Improv Festival, Madison Lady Laughs, Chicago Womens Funny Fest and the Chicago Improv Festival. She also has several one woman shows, and she took her first one woman show "M.P.H.: A Comedy Compendium" to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2013 and is currently touring her solo improv show, "Dance, Monkey!" at improv festivals across Europe.
