Redwood Arts presents Paul Galbraith
Mr. Galbraith plays a unique 8-string guitar, which departs from the established format through an asymmetrical stringing design borrowed from the lute family. It was named the Brahms Guitar for its richness of sound and wide range. It has a cello-like endpin that Paul rests on a box to enhance the projection of instruments rich sound. On this instrument, Paul has recorded a series of highly acclaimed albums, starting with the music of Brahms piano variations, and continuing with a Haydn Sonata; French Impressions, with music by Debussy & Ravel; Brittens famous Nocturnal for guitar; and Bachs Sonatas & Partitas which was nominated for a Grammy award. His latest CD, Allemande, was released in 2017.
