The Homo File Salon

Come join me for a fabulous evening of pop-up performances, divine, queer slow food, and spectacular wines to support the full-length premier of Homo File.

The Homo File Salon will  take place Sunday, September 22nd at 5:00pm at the marvelous 1887 Victorian home of renowned classical pianist Garrick Ohlsson and author Bob Guter in the Castro district of San Francisco. The food will be prepared by famed kitchen magician Jayson Jaynes and the salon will feature lavish wines from Garrick and Bob's cellar. To top it all off, there will be sneak peek performances interspersed throughout the evening: pop-ups, teasers, pleasers, and a tantalizing taste of Homo File.

All of us at Eye Zen Presents are focused on the full-length premiere of Homo File in April of 2014. We are pleased to announce the San Francisco Arts Commission awarded us a large and prestigious grant, but we still need to raise over $40,000 to bring the full-length premier to life. We are hosting the Homo File Salon to help bridge that gap.

Who else do you know of that was mentored by both Gertrude Stein and Dr. Alfred Kinsey? Homo File chronicles the life of Samuel Steward who lived his last 30 years in the Bay Area; his work represents an important slice of pre-Stonewall history, nearly forgotten. This salon is an opportunity to support the first performance about his life, to protect and promote queer history and celebrate Steward with a luscious evening of food, wine, performance, and surprise guests. Don't miss out on this unique event, space is limited!
