Making Waves Margate - Industry Professionals ticket
To celebrate the opening of the Turner Prize exhibition at Margate's Turner Contemporary, and the opening of the Margate Festival Margate NOW - UK Arts International and Looping The Loop are proud to be presenting Making Waves, a weekend showcase of theatre, dance and live performance.
Taking place from Friday 27th Sunday 29th September in venues around Margate, including the historic Theatre Royal (the UK's second oldest working theatre) and the 50-seat Tom Thumb (one of the smallest theatre's in the world), Making Waves invites you to experience some of the best performance work that is currently being produced in East Kent.
Opening with 1927s new production, Roots, Making Waves is the industry's hottest new ticket, offering an opportunity for producers, venue managers, programmers, festival directors, agents, funders and other industry professionals to see a broad range of productions and engage with artists who are ready to take their work further afield.
This ticket will allow access to nine full-length shows throughout the weekend, plus a showcase evening of six excerpts, as well as ten pitches, all from local creatives. There will also be ample opportunity to network throughout the weekend, finishing with cocktails and canapés at Olbys Soul Café.

Roots: 1927 Making Waves Showcase - an evening of performance hosted by Brigitte Aphrodite with Sharon Byrne Productions (Battered), Marianne Dissard (Not Me), Tiny Circus Tent (Half Heard), Tom Adams and Co (The Essay Show), Sid Productions (Palais de Dance), Cohesion Plus (Afro Bangra Fusion).
Pitches - Ten Kent-based creatives pitch their new production ideas. They are: Anna Symes/ Round in Circles (In Search of Xanadu / I Mambo Margate), Whats Coming Out of the Box (Bonhomme), Motormouse Productions (Giving Up Marty), Dot Dash (This is Heavy), Loosely Woven Theatre (Bingo-ing Crazy Nights), Confidance (Joint), Beady Eye / Honk Project (Mearth / Mothers), Brigitte Aphrodite / Gareth Tomlinson (Playground), Aca Theatre (C is for Clown), Golkk Theatre (Rest[less]) The pitch session is followed by a networking lunch.
