Live @ The Howland! Luiz Simas & Wesley Amorim
The Houwland Cultural Center, Beacon's premier arts and entertainment venue, now celebrating its 40th Anniversary, is pleased to present Luiz Simas and Wesley Amorim In Concert. Their repertoire includes Luiz's and Wesley's infectious originl tunes as well as beloved Brazilian music by Jobim, Caetano Veloso and others.
Rio-born Brazilian jazz composer/singer/pianist Luiz Simas is a genuine Carioca! A New Yorker since 1989, he has led original groups in jazz festivals and clubs in the United States, in Europe and in Brazil. Luiz's voice and music have warmed major venues including Birdland, the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Bargemusic.
Wesley Amorin, a guitarist and arranger from Sao Paulo, Brazil, began his professional music career at the age of seventeen playing and recording a wide range of music genres from Brazilian to jazz, rock and gospel. He recently moved to the United States and has shared the stage with many renowned artists including Oriente Lopez, Nanny Assis, Arthur Lipner, Gene Perla and Eleanor Dubinski.
