CULTIVATE - LUNCH, PIETA BROWN AND ACTUAL WOLF
Everwood Farmstead Foundation invites you to join us at the farm on October 5, 2019 to enjoy an afternoon of music, food, friends and autumn beauty to help further and grow the work of the Foundation.
Join us at the Farm as early as 11:00 am before we gather in the barn at 11:30 am for lunch - an intimate gathering at long tables as acclaimed chef JIM CHRISTIANSEN prepares a multi-course meal from locally sourced ingredients. Lunch will Include wine pairings along with custom cocktails prepared by JASON SUSS of A Proper Pour. And you will enjoy an intimate set from PIETA BROWN. Afterwards, take a walk on the trails, visit the bee hives, play a yard game or just relax on a blanket. When you build up a thirst, we'll have wine, Spotted Cow on tap and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages. At 2:30, you will enjoy listening to PIETA BROWN and ACTUAL WOLF in the barn.

JIM CHRISTIANSEN is noted for his hyper-seasonal, close-to-home ingredient philosophy as well as his ability to create gorgeous and exquisitely flavorful dishes. His time spent at world-renowned Noma continues to inform his creations today. Jim has been recognized as a Food & Wine Magazine Best New Chef (2015) and a James Beard nominee as Best Chef Midwest (2015, 2016 and 2017).
JASON SUSS, from A PROPER POUR, has worked at some of the Twin Cities' finest restaurants including La Belle Vie and St. Dinette. He never shies away from a pun and mixes incredibly creative specialty and craft cocktails.
PIETA BROWN, first came to international prominence with the release of her self-titled debut in 2002. Over the course of the ensuing decade-and-a-half, she has toured the US and Europe extensively and released another seven critically lauded records. NPR applauded her "moody, ethereal" songwriting, and the New York Times praised her "sweet, smoky voice." In addition to the mountain of acclaim, Brown's music has also earned her co-writes with the likes of Iris Dement, Amos Lee and Calexico as well as tour dates with an astonishing array of artists, including John Prine, Brandi Carlile, Emmylou Harris, JJ Cale, Neko Case, Richard Thompson, Ani DiFranco, Mavis Staples and Iris Dement.
Eric Pollard, best known to music fans by his nom de strum ACTUAL WOLF, is originally from Grand Rapids, MN, and is a proud product of Duluth's music scene. Prior to Actual Wolf, Eric was a sideman in various bands, mostly notably Retribution Gospel Choir and Low. After living in Brooklyn, Nashville and Oakland, he recently returned to Minnesota. His latest album "Faded Days" is delightfully breezy and laid-back with a 70s sonic vibe.
