Final Analysis by Lawrence Hennessy
Inspired, in part, by the #Me Too movement, Final Analysis explores the consequences of inaction as they play out for a rapidly aging, over the hill psychologist. Dr. Levin Smalls is burnt out, and ethically challenged. He has recently relocated his office after dismantling his group practice because one of his colleagues faces claims of sexual misconduct. While not guilty of directly committing any misdeeds himself, the question is raised that Dr. Smalls' transgressions may have been greater than his colleagues, because he knew what was going on and did nothing. In this story, two of his newest clients conspire to teach Dr. Smalls a lesson he'll not soon forget. Nor will you!
Final Analysis is Hennessy's fifth play to be presented at TASN going back to 96 Tears in 2010. The other productions include: Left Among Us in 2016; The Imposter Syndrome in 2017; and last winter's presentation of Crippled Inside. All proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Actors Studio of Newburyport.
