Lancaster plays second fiddle to Barbra Stanwyck in this suspenseful film noir about an invalid woman who mistakenly overhears a phone conversation that details a murder plot. As she frantically tries to get in touch with her husband (Lancaster) she begins to piece together the fact that the plot is related to some shady business he has gotten himself involved in.
