Mix Tape
AirDance New Mexico presents Mix Tape, an aerial dance theater exploring spectacle, danger, and our universal connection to rock and roll. August 2-11, at the AirDance ArtSpace, 3030 Isleta Blvd. SW. This new show features aerial dance choreography on aerial apparatus and bungee, with modern dance and experimental movement. Shows begin at 8:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 6:00 pm on Sundays. General admission tickets are $15 adults; $10 seniors and students; and $5 children, available at airdancenm.org and at the door. Tickets may be reserved online or by calling (505) 675-0727. All are welcome. The AirDance ArtSpace is ADA accessible.
Mix Tape explores our connection to unity, rebellion, angst, and joy, set to the music of rock, punk, funk, goth, and experimentation that unleashes our fearlessness and identity. Mix Tape is an acrobatic theatrical explosion, revealing the strange, as the performers examine the unbridled and playful aspects of rock and roll through the beauty and danger of aerial arts. Mix Tape features aerialists Cortney Baca, Ericka Elwell, Christina Cavaleri, Joanna Furgal, Ronnie Gialouris, Sam Ley, Zachary Sears, and Kristen Woods. This show is directed by guest director Aaron Hendren.
Mix Tape is part of AirDance New Mexicos annual season, which includes performances of its Junior Company. AirDance New Mexico, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization working to bring the joy of aerial arts and dance theater to the greater Albuquerque area through performances and educational offerings.
