AHN TRIO
Since their inception, the Ahn Trio has enthralled audiences with their freewheeling approach to chamber music, the original programming and their unabashed zeal in playing works and arrangements written for them by living composers. All trained at The Juilliard School of Music, the Korean-born sisters have been celebrated as consummate musicians, innovative collaborators and classical music ambassadors. The L.A. Times has called them "exacting and exciting musicians," and the New York Newsday has proclaimed them "Classical Revolutionaries." Program: In Celebration of Man on the Moon -- Bernstein Piano Trio (1937); Pat Metheny Yu Ryung (ghost figure) (written for the Ahn Trio); David Bowie/Pat Metheny This is Not America; David Bowie/arr. Kenji Bunch Space Oddity (1969); Jiha Park (arr. Lucia Ahn) Sounds Heard from the Moon; Mark Baechle Flying Machine (2018) (written for the Ahn Trio); Ludovico Einaudi/arr.
